what is from melbourne?

Ok, you're probably wondering why this travel blog is so Melbourne-centric...I live in Melbourne, so why aren't there photos of stuff overseas? Bear with me: the purpose of this website is to give you insights of everything from the perspective of someone from Melbourne, which explains the name (I wanted to choose a commonly spoken phrase used when travelling - often I'll say "I'm from Melbourne.")

This is going to sound controversial but Melburnians (yep - not 'Melbournians') are pretty snobbish compared to most Australians (but we're still probably friendlier than a lot of rest of the world).

The upside of this snobbery is that we have super high standards of everything:

• food

• coffee

• wine

• education

• drinking water and

• even banking apps  (I've lived overseas and can safely say that most country's banking apps comprehensively suck.)

I'm going to start with reviewing luxury hotels that I've stayed in to give you my honest thoughts and will tell you if I'd recommend you stay there - i.e. whether it passes the "from melbourne" test. I'll also reveal tips for what I used to get discounts to afford to stay there.
